Parkinson's Disease, a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system, affects the motor control (hands, legs) and hand-eye co-ordination of the sufferer. A pilot needs to have a steady hand and steady feet to operate the very sensitive steering system and pedal systems.

A sudden uncontrollable jolt caused by the disease while the pilot is holding the steering wheel (or steering yoke) can flip the plane upside-down or cause it to bolt in a certain direction, injuring those on board who are not strapped in and possibly losing control.
