Yes, you can be around that person. If you are not HIV positive or have AIDs yourself I would suggest wearing gloves if you are going to touch them or not touching any open soars or cuts. Do not use anything of theirs either. Be as careful as possible with the person because you do not want to contract the disease. Do not have sex with that person because you will contract the disease especially if unprotected. AIDs is not airborne so in that aspect you will be fine.
