Forgetting parts of your childhood is normal. It's considered abnormal, in fact, if you remember absolutely everything about your life.
Getting one's memory back, however, is a little bit harder. I'm not sure exactly how to do it, but I'd expect you'd need to perform memory-strengthening exercises and then think hard about your childhood.
