Definately, yes. I got MRSA from several deeply embedded small splinters. I tried with a needle to get them out, which lead to a MRSA staph infection. My entire leg
became involved and I have been on antibiotics for 6 wks, Dr. still doesn't believe
the splinter story, but it's my body and I know whats in there, so, hopefully soon they will all be out. Whatever, don't pick at it or it will spread and that is aweful. Good luck.
