yes you can u just need to ice it for 5 minutes and then you can take a CLEAN needle or whatever you want to use but make sure it is clean and after you have iced your ears for 5 minutes, take your needle or whatever you are using and stick it through your ears but because you are peircing your ears yourself you have to clean your ears and the earring everyday to prevent any infection but make sure to put the earring back in your ear after you have cleaned the earrings EVERYDAY so the hole wont close up and after about 2-3 weeks you can take the earrings out without having the hole close up. but if your ear gets red and a little swollen and starts throbbing, take the earrings out because your ears are infected and let the holes close up and heal and you can try it again.
It could be a swollen capillary.

The bump inside of your earring hole is usually an indication that you have dirt, lint, debris or etc, inside of your hole. It should be painless which indicates that it is not infected. You just need to clean your earrings and ears with peroxide or alcohol and stick your earrings in your ear in the reverse, it should push the debris out.
