Can you have a stroke at any age if you are under a lot of stress?

Yes. That's how my daddy and my grandpa had their strokes.I may be wrong but I believe that at the moment, there is no clinical research to suggest that stress alone can cause stroke. However, saying that, it is my personal belief that stress may exacerbate another risk factor such as prolonged hypertension thus increasing the risk of vessel damage within the ventricles of the brain.

Within my experience as a Stroke Nurse for 10 years, I have known people to suffer a stroke so soon after a very stressful event such as moving house or bereavement. This would certainly suggest though a minority rather than the majority of people.
