I dont know, but I am also itching like crazy and the only singe thing Ive been doing differently lately, is taking calcium and Vitamin D tablets. So, I suspect that its an allergy to something in the make up of the tablet, not the vitamin itself.
It shouldn't itch for no reason. There are numbers of ways your body could itch. It could be poision ivy, allergies, or even wool clothing. it just start itching about 1 week ago I recently went through a bout of itching like you've described, and it lasted for maybe a month or more. I went to my doctor who did some pretty thorough blood testing, and found that I had a vitamin D deficiency (which was strange, since my multi-vitamin contains 100% of the daily requirement for vitamin D). She started me on a vitamin D supplement (Metagenics), and also gave me a steroid shot. I can't say which one helped, but I no longer have the itching.
