Ode to the Skeletal System
Beneath the skin, a hidden frame,
The skeletal system, silent and tame.
A steadfast guard, a structure true,
Supporting the body in all that we do.
From cranium high, a vaulted dome,
To phalanges guiding hands that roam.
Each bone a story, a crafted piece,
A legacy of strength that will not cease.
The vertebrae stand, a column's might,
Flexing and bending, day and night.
Protecting nerves in their winding course,
A pillar of life, a steadfast force.
Ribs encircle, a cage so grand,
Shielding the heart with a gentle hand.
Their rhythm echoes with every breath,
Guarding life from the grasp of death.
The pelvis, a cradle, a basin wide,
Balancing life with strength and pride.
Femurs stretch, a bridge below,
Bearing the weight as we run and grow.
Joints connect, a dance divine,
Where bones meet and paths align.
Ligaments bind, tendons pull,
A marvel of motion, powerful.
Oh skeleton, quiet, steadfast friend,
Your work continues till the end.
A frame for flesh, a partner in grace,
The silent hero of the human race.
