Not normally. Normally puberty doesn't start in males until 11 or so, and sometimes as early as 8 or 9. If you have a 7 year old boy who is showing signs of puberty, then there is a decent chance there may be a problem. You should take him to his pediatrician or a pediatric endocrinologist to get it checked out.

Whilst it would be unusual and rare for a boy to start Puberty at the age of 7, it is not out of the question completely !

There have been rare occasions when boys and girls have started puberty at a very early age and began adulthood much earlier than usual. Although it is very unlikely to happen to your child, it is not impossible. If you see that your child is having growth spurts before the age of 9 for a girl or 11 for a boy seek medical advise from your family Doctor.
