Uh....Yea! Duh, it's gonna hurt regardless of who is doing the piercing. You are still sticking a needle through your ear! Also, it will probably go in crooked...get someone with a piercing licence to do it correctly. Yes. even when using a topical analgesic there is going to be some discomfort or pain associated with any sort of piercing. Until the body heals at the point of the piercing then there will be some pain involved.
