A chalky feeling in the mouth after a colonoscopy can result from the sedative medications used during the procedure or from the oral preparations taken beforehand, which often include a contrast solution or electrolyte drinks. These substances can lead to temporary changes in taste and mouth texture. Additionally, dehydration from the bowel prep can contribute to a dry, chalky sensation. If the feeling persists or is concerning, it's best to consult a healthcare professional.
