Next steps for lay rescuer:
1. Confirm 911 has been called
2. Look in mouth and if you do not see the object go to 4
3. If object seen, finger sweep the mouth & remove object
4. Attempt to ventilate 2 breaths
5. If breaths don't go in, do CPR chest compressions 30 times
6. Repeat steps 2 - 5 until breaths go in
7. When breaths go in, start CPR immediately 30 compressions to 2 breaths
If a choking adult becomes unresponsive, first call for emergency medical assistance immediately. Then, carefully lower the person to the ground and begin CPR, starting with chest compressions. Before each set of breaths, check the mouth for any visible obstruction and, if found, try to remove it with a finger sweep. Continue CPR until emergency responders arrive or the person shows signs of recovery.
CPR for an adult
you should look in his or her mouth if the object hasn't came out if not , keep doing abdominal thrust until item is out . but if the item is out . you give two rescue breaths and abdominal thrust until child becomes responsive .
ring the bell on the table next to him
Open the airway and check for breathing (signs of life; look, listen & feel); if not breathing give two breaths then start CPR.
Look for the object; if there is no object in the mouth, attempt the 2 breaths. If breaths don't go in, repeat the sequence of compressions, look for object (sweep then if you see it), attempt the 2 breaths, etc until the breaths go in & you can check for a pulse.
