Ovulation occurs 14 days BEFORE your period.

Unless you use fertility awareness method you can't know when you are fertile or ovulating, guessing fertile days like this is unreliable and if trying to avoid pregnancy it will fail.

You should count from the first day of bleeding. That is day 1. Ovulation occurs around day 14 and the next period usually comes along around day 28. You can use a calendar too.

Before you can calculate your ovulation day, you must first determine, the date of your last period's first day and you need to know your menstrual cycle. Do you start counting from the day you get your period to find out if your pregnant?

If you get your period chances are you are not pregnant. If you don't get your period and you are pregnant, your doctor/midwife will want to determine when you most likely conceived, to do this he/she will want to know the first day of your last period. If you have a 28 day cycle ovulation usually occurs in the middle of your cycle.

well, think of when she missed her first period....then count back 2 weeks and there you go. this is the case since ovulation typically occurs 12-16 days after your last cycle. and then about 2 weeks after that you have your period. so just take when you missed your period and count two weeks before whatever the first day your missed period could have started....

Would you still ovulate after your period?

Ovulation takes place on the 11th day of every month, maybe 10th day or 12th day we are all different, Count 11 days from the first day of your last period, this is your day of ovulation, this will be the same every month until your about 50 years old, most women have a 26 day cycle, that's how we know we are due a period. The best time to fall pregnent would be day 10 11 & 12 these days are best avoided should pregnence is not welcomed at this time.
