Specific response - 2 main types (cell mediated and antibody mediated immunity) may accompany or follow non specific reactions e.g. inflamation, but both rely on the actions of B and T lyphocytes. B cells make protein antibodies (gammaglobulins) that react against foreign proteins (antigens). T cells multiply and attack the pathogen.

Cell Mediated Immunity - once a T cell recognises an antigen it multiplies rapidly. Helper T cells activate B cells to make antibodies, macrophages engulf the microbes along with any debris. Killer T cells attack the microbes and any infected body cells using strong powerful proteins (lymphokines). Suppressor T cells inhibit the response of other cells to the invading nicrobes.

What is lymphocyte typing?

Lymphocyte typing focuses on identifying the numbers and relative percentages of lymphocytes in an individual's bloodstream. Lymphocytes, primarily T cells and B cells, are types of white blood cells.

What type of lymphocyte can produce antibiotics?

B lymphocytes produce antibodies, more specifically plasma cells, which B lymphocyes differentiate into.

What is the difference between a lymphocyte and a macrophage?

B lymphocytes secrete free antibodies, which provide immunity to virusesT lymphocytes are coated with bound antibodies, they provide immunity to foreign cellsmacrophages generally eat debris, but when activated by lymphocytes they concentrate on eating whatever matches the type of antibody the lymphocyte makes

Does a lymphocyte have ribosomes?

Yes, like all cells, lymphocytes have ribosomes. Ribosomes are responsible for protein synthesis in the cell, including the production of antibodies in B lymphocytes and the activation of immune response in T lymphocytes.

Which type of lymphocytes is formed in the bone marrow?

In many research projects performed, there were findings of 8.6 (+or-) 1.6 % of T lymphocytes found in the total bone marrow lymphocyte pool. There was also 15.4 (+ or -) 1.9 % of B lymphocytes found in the total bone marrow lymphocyte pool. There was a remarkable 74.6 (+ or -) 2.4 % of the total pool that had no special marks to identify it as a specific type of lymphocyte. The findings can not be explained nor were they tampered with.

What are the differences between b lymphocytes an t lymphocytes?

T cells are a specific type of lymphocyte that are identified via immunologic staining; they are involved in the cell lysis portion of the immune response to viruses and intracellular bacteria.

Is lymphocyte an arganulocyte?

Yes, there are 3 types of lymphocytes and all are an agranulocytes. The 3 types are B cells, T cells, and NK cells.
