That is an interesting question, and I'm not sure of the answer. I would think that the anorexia would have to be severe and prolonged for that to happen (getting shorter) if it happens at all. Well before then, it must become obvious that the young girl needs help. There can be some severe developmental problems. If a girl is post-menarch and the anorexia causes an irregularity or a stop of periods, this would be an alarming and urgent symptom requiring immediate attention.
