All I can say to you is this. My son who is 11 and drives us crazy was just prescribed Welbutrin yesterday by our doctor for his ADD and this is due to him constantly getting into trouble at school. He is an honor student but he is incredibly unorganized and scattered. We are truly praying that this will be the answer. My doctor says that it is not habbit forming and the way I look at this, as much as I hate the thought of medicating him as we are really into a very healthy lifestyle is this. If he is happy and productive and gets good grades and can stay out of trouble, we are all the better for this. I believe you are on the right track All I can say to you is this. No. ADHD does cause poor impulse control but in no way is it an excuse for adultery or a complete explanation for such behavior. Individuals with ADHD are more likely to do risky behaviors but it is not the cause; consult counselling.
All ADHD/ADD medication will cause mood changes due to the neuro-biological effect that they are having, usually straight after the drug has taken effect and when it is wearing off. But they all affect people differently, e.g ritalin (methyphenidate hydro-chloride) is my preferred choice. Equasym, is just thats chemical but in a modified release capsule so it lasts longer and is less extreme. My advice would be to try and find a medication that fits your schedule, so long as your mood doesn't change too dramatically, you should be ok.
Some women may note mood changes as their own menstrual cycle takes over after stopping depo provera. If these mood changes are severe, talk with your health care provider.
It does not, it makes anyone hyper. Adhd is a whole different disorder
ADHD is how your brain works, the chemicals in your brain cannot be altered by Pepsi, and I think that ADHD can only be caused by the way your brain works from the start of your life, and nothing else can cause it.
