Yes he does. The character Percy Jackson in his dad's book (Rick Riordan) is somewhat based off of his son Haley. The whole series (Percy Jackson) started with Haley's bedtime story when he was nine after hi father ran out of Greek myths to tell him.
I think his son has ADHD and dyslexia which inspired him to do the PJO series, but he was also a history teacher.
Haley Riordan's full name is Haley Elizabeth Riordan.
ADHD often has one other "side effect" that comes with it dyslexia is very common one but you can have dyslexia and not ADHD they don't come as a joint package.
