They used to say that cracking your knuckles would give you Arthritis. A doctor friend of mine says that that is not true; that "popping" your knuckles is just releasing gasses in the joints. However, the danger with cracking your knuckles is over-extending them or flexing them too far, which could cause pulled muscles or eventual joint damage.

Are cracking knuckles okay?

Yes, depending on how often you do it. If you crack your knuckles a lot then you will continually have to crack them more unless you prevent yourself from doing so. Cracking your knuckles actually releases the nitrogen in between your joints.

Why can't i crack my knuckles anymore?

It's possible that your joints have become more flexible, preventing the buildup of gas in the synovial fluid that causes the popping sound when cracking your knuckles. This increased flexibility can lead to less resistance and, thus, less cracking. Additionally, as you age, your joints may naturally produce less synovial fluid, making it harder to crack them.

Why do you crack your knuckles?

Well it is. If you keep doing it it is likely you will get Arthiritus in your hands when you are older, which is meant to be horrible because it limits what you can do with your hands without pain occuring.
