I dont know about camphor oil. The only thing that i have found that works well is hair color. but after you color you would still need to remove the eggs. they will be dead but they hold on for dear life! Best thing i can offer is to put olive oil in the hair over night with a shower cap on, then next morning comb thru with a lice brush to remove the eggs and then wash hair with dish soap. If you have a really stubborn case, hair bleach is a definite.

Will flat ironing your hair kill lice eggs?

Though there is scientific evidence to support that heat will kill head lice, the risk of possibly scalding the scalp with the flat iron is a risk. Lice lay their eggs very close to the scalp. Nits usually hatch by the time the hair has grown 1/4 inch. How do you make camphor oil?

What does oil do for lice?

Oil suffocates lice by blocking their airways, making it difficult for them to breathe. It also helps loosen the nits (lice eggs) from the hair shaft, making them easier to comb out. Oil can be an effective natural treatment for lice infestations.

If you have eggs will hairdressers still cut your hair?

If you're talking about lice eggs (otherwise known as "nits"), more than likely not. Your best bet would be to douse your hair with olive oil (smothers the eggs and any lice left on your head) to make it easier to pull the eggs off of your strands. Fluorescent lights are you best friend in finding hidden eggs too, always dip your delousing comb in rubbing alcohol to help kill everything.

How do you go about delousing a patient?

There are many ways to get rid of lice. Olive oil and mayonnaise put on the hair, covered with a cap overnight is one way. Lysol is another way if you don't mind the chemicals. Natural remedies like tea tree, lavender oil and peppermint oil also kill the adults. Eggs need to be combed out with a lice comb as do dead adults.

Does chlorine kill head lice?

I dunno, but I honesty wouldn't try!Chlorine from a swimming pool will not kill lice. They can shut down their respiratory system for over 10 hours. If you put chlorine on your childs hair it isn't safe! You are much better off to put conditioner and olive oil to the head to suffocate the live lice. Then you can immobilize them and comb them out. One doesn't need harsh chemicals to kill lice. They need to be suffocated by something thick, then combed out!All nits must be removed as well or lice will return!www.myhairhelpers.comI'm not sure, but if it does, it would be needed in high concentration which would damage the hair. I read in ascientific journal that blow-dryin your hair can kill lice by drying them up...it might but it will damage your hairYes chlorine can kill the head lice and can even corrode the hairsNo it doesn't. It's probably possible that chlorine could kill lice, but it would have to be in such high concentrations that it would seriously hurt a human. And, unfortunately, lice can hold their breath in water so you can't really drown them either.Well, for one, it depends on how long you are in that pool. If you hang out in that pool for 3 hours, they most likely already drowned. Chlorine itself can kill lice eggs, and lice, but then again, the amount of diluted chlorine in pools, mixed with other chemicals, just leads to only a few actually dying. There isn't enough chlorine in standardized american pools to kill lice.Yes it could because chlorine is to strong for them to handle so eventually they will die.Chlorine from pools will NOT kill lice bugs but it can kill the nits, the lice eggs, because the chemicals are too much pressure so they'll never hatch and die. But the lice will still live.
