With diarrhea, you're losing fluids,(water). You can easily get a bit dehydrated.
Now, fluid loss will look like weight loss if you step on a scale. But it's not a sustainable loss. As soon as you're able to keep stuff in and has had something to drink, your weight will bounce right back to where it was before you got diarrhea.
