Not necessarily,

It is true that viruses hijack endocytotic mechanisms for their own gain in a "trojan horse" style as do bacterium but these pathways are alredy present on ever cell.

Macropinocytosis is used to traffick fluis into the cells and other smaller endocytotic routes are vital for cell homeostasis.

Infact, without endocytosis, cells fail to live or develope disease.

Famously, Alzheimer's Disease is caused by a dysfunction in endocytosis as are some cancers.

endocytosis mean brining materials into cell and exocytosis means removing materials from cell.

What does Endocytosis mean in Latin?

Endocytosis, a modern term for the process by which cells brings in material (such as nutrients) from outside by enclosing it in the cell membrane, is derived from the Greek words endon"within", cytos "receptacle" (used in modern scientific terminology to mean "cell") and the noun suffix -osis.

What is the name of a common disease that black people get?

You are probably looking for the disease 'Sickle cell anemia'. It is most common in blacks but it doesn't mean that if you are black that you have it.

How do substances get in and out of a cell if they are to big to pass through the cell membrane?

Do you mean how do substances move through a cell membrane if they are too big to transport by passive transport? If so, a cell uses active transport to move large particles in and out of a cell. Active transport includes endocytosis, pinocytosis, and phagocytosis.

How does a cell move a molecule that is too large for transport?

I assume that you mean "how does a large molecule enter or leave a cell, when it is too large to diffuse through the cell membrane or to be transported by transmembrane transporter proteins?" If this is the case, then the cell must actively (i.e. with energy in the form of ATP/GTP) import/export the macromolecule (large molecule) via endocytosis/exocytosis. 1. Endocytosis and 2. exocytosis are when the cell either: 1. engulfs the macromolecule in a membrane, forming a vesicle around it, which is snipped internally, leaving the vesicle and its contents inside the cell; 2. or, the macromolecule is packaged into a vesicle by the Golgi apparatus, the vesicle meets the cell membrane and fuses to it, opening up, and the contents are expelled outwards while the vesicle membrane becomes part of the cell membrane. There are many diagrams available on the internet that illustrate this process. I hope this helped. What does it mean when someone carries the sickle cell gene but does not have the disease?

If you carry the sickle cell gene, it doesn't really mean much as far as your own personal health goes. Except that you are less likely to get malaria. However, if you decide to have kids, and whoever you mate with also carries the sickle cell gene (not the full blown disease/gene) , your child has a chance of having sickle cell disease (full blown).

What does hemeostasis mean?

Homeostasis means to keep internal balance. It is usually used when referring to a health or disease system in the body.

Is the process exocytosis materials that are taken into a cell?

No, exocytosis is actually the process by which materials are moved out of a cell. It involves the vesicle in which the materials are contained fusing with the cell membrane and releasing the contents outside the cell.

What does AS and SS under blood group mean?

Under blood group, the letters AS and SS are used in reference to sickle cell disease. AC means that one is carrying the sickle cell disease gene while SS means that one has sickle cell disease.

What does it mean when a disease caused by a mutation in genes that control the cell cycle?

This is typically cancer. A disease like this would mess with the way cells reproduce so that replicated cells would come out wrong

What does it mean if Platelet Parameters PDW is high?

Platelet distribution width (PDW) is increased in vaso-occlusive crisis in sickle cell disease.
