A decrease in HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels can indicate a miscarriage, as HCG levels typically rise during a healthy pregnancy. However, it’s important to consider that declining HCG levels can also occur for other reasons, such as an ectopic pregnancy or a non-viable pregnancy. It's crucial to consult a healthcare provider for accurate diagnosis and guidance based on individual circumstances.
Just happened to me too. My dr called it a threatened miscarriage and is still checking my hcg levels.
If your hCG levels are increasing but not doubling, it could indicate a potential issue, but it doesn't definitively mean you are miscarrying. The absence of a visible pregnancy on the ultrasound at 6 weeks may suggest that you are not as far along as initially thought, or it could indicate a possible abnormality. It's important to follow up with your healthcare provider for further monitoring and evaluation to determine the next steps.
It means you are not pregnant or miscarried. HCG levels under 5 not pregnant. 5 and over pregnant. My HCG level was a 10 and went down to a 3 :(
HCG goes up by 500 every week that you are pregnant (or at least this is what a nurse told me) so if your HCG level reads "1000" it means that you are approximatley 2 weeks pregnant.. Meaning if your HCG level reads 1500, you are 3 weeks along.
If you mean, what does it mean to have a high hcg level in the absence of fetal heart tones, I would say either you have a test tube with hcg in it, or a molar pregnancy.
HCG levels of 2000mlU/ml. means pregnancy.
It normally means that your Hcg level has increased.

In pregnancy
'Hcg' means hormone produced early in pregnancy by the placenta; detection in the urine and serum is the basis for one kind of pregnancy test
A quantitative HCG done in early pregnancy is very helpful. If it doubles in 2 to 3 days, the pregnancy is normal. If it goes down instead of up, the pregnancy is not a good one. If it goes up or down only slightly, you may have an ectopic or tubal pregnancy.
