Does peroxide get rid of pimples?

No, peroxide doesn't get rid of acne. Over time, it will make the pores too dry and prevent healing.

Washing your face with a gentle soap (not a scrub!) and without a washcloth will help. The important thing is to rinse your face thoroughly. Aloe gel will help it heal and dry up. Finally, be sure to change your pillow slip often and keep your hair clean.

I think it's great. It's the only acne cream that's ever worked for me. Before, I used products with salicylic acid, and all that ever did was dry my skin out. Then I tried products with benzoyl peroxide, and I was just so amazed that it actually WORKED. Didn't just make it a little better...made it ALL better.

The ProActive stuff is expensive, but some store brands -- like Clearasil -- make their own benzoyl peroxide cream, and it's a lot cheaper. But they also make the stuff with salicylic acid, so be sure to check the ingredients before you buy any. Some of the big chain pharmacies also make their own: there's a CVS-brand benzoyl peroxide cream, and a Duane Reade-brand one too.

The only problem, though, is it can stain your clothing. It bleaches the color out of clothing, so you have to be careful if you're getting dressed right after putting it on.
