Does protein cause high blood pressure?

In some people shakes can change the blood pressure quite significantly, in others they won't do anything. It depends on the shake. Also, for everybody there might be another good shake and one that causes problems.

Protein shakes are synthetic products and there are many ingredients inside that may influence us in complex ways. We are naturally not adapted to synthetic food by evolution. That is the same for fast food, salty food and many other products. On long term the human body does best with natural, unprocessed foods, like fresh fruits, vegetables, unprocessed meat, fish etc, because we are adapted to that by evolution.
But it always depends, some people might not have any problems while others get sick.
Usually unnatural blood pressure values and diseases like Diabetes etc do not occur in aboriginal tribes. Those diseases only start when they move to civilisation.

I believe it is the other way round. When blood pressure is raised it pushes protein through the liver by creating bigger 'holes' in the liver that would not normally allow protein through. Hence protein is a symptom of hypertension.
