It has worked for us! My #2 daughter came home with adult lice in her hair. First I covered her head in baby oil. Some say mayo or petrolum but mayo can turn rancid and be a health problem for kidos. And petrolum well enough said.

Anyway, cover head with baby oil or coconut oil, wrap with plastic wrap leave on for at least 2 hours. I washed it out with dawn dishsoap. It may take 2 washings. Then I washed again with regular shampoo with 5 drops of tea tree oil. Go heavy on the conditioner. Then use a nit comb. I did find a wonderfull tea tree shampoo at the health food store called Jasons. The entire family now uses it on a regular basis.

Every morning I braid her hair and we have a 12oz spray bottle with water and 6 drops of oil in it with which I spray her hair.

I do also spray with hairspray occasionally. To keep the hair up and to keep lice from having a place to attatch.

We are now on day 5 and no more lice. I was lucky that in the midst of all this we went camping for 4 days. Lice couldn't live in the house with no one home.

If you have long hair, make sure you tie your hair up as well when washing or combing hair.

Can i apply tea tree oil directly to nit eggs?

Applying tea tree oil directly to nit eggs (lice eggs) is not recommended, as it may not effectively kill the eggs and can potentially irritate the scalp or skin. While tea tree oil is known for its insecticidal properties and may help in treating lice infestations, it is best used in a diluted form or as part of a formulated lice treatment. For safety and effectiveness, consider consulting a healthcare professional or using treatments specifically designed for lice and nits.

Does tea tree oil really work for head lice?

in some cases it is only good for preventing them since they do not like the smell.. but in this it must be 100% tea tree oil.. it is however likely that it will kill them if you leave it on your head or leave it in a shower cap on your head overnight

Will lye soap kill head lice?

All soap is lye soap. You cannot create anything that is soap without lye. If you are having a problem with head lice I would either suggest the shampoo they sell at the store for it or a shampoo that contains tea tree essential oil. ( Please do not put tea tree essential oil undiluted on your skin. It can cause irritation and burning if not properly diluted.) There are many online websites where you can buy shampoo that contains tea tree essential oil but I still strongly suggest you use the shampoo from the store.

How can you demolish head lice?

The most effective way i found to kill head lice is: "Tea tree oil" That's right just have it massaged gently into you're scalp, and it will kill fungus as well as lice on you're head. Tea tree oil fits that criteria because of its versatility. The cool thing is you can personally add it to you're shampoo!!! just add about a teaspoon to a 1/2 ounce of shampoo then lather it it gently, giving yourself a enjoyable massage, as far as the oil part i wouldn't worry about it weighing your hair down since oil is beneficiary for you're scalp, it will just give you a nice sheen or natural shine, restoring your natural pH balance!!!
