The Mosaic Law forbids the consuming of blood, human or animal. Whether the blood is going in via the mouth or being fed into the body through an intravenous route. In Leviticus chapter 17 verse 12 it States, That is why I have said to the sons of Israel:"No soul of you must eat blood and no alien resident who is residing as an alien in your midst should eat blood." (New World Translation) also goes on to say in the later part of Leviticus chapter 17 verse 14.." You must not eat the blood of of any sort of flesh, because the soul of every sort of flesh is it's blood." In Genesis chapter 9 verses 3,4: "Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for you. As in the case of green vegetation, I do give it all to you. Only flesh with it's soul-the blood-you must not eat."
