In many cases, but not all. Ex: one of your heart's ventricles beats irregularly. But increasing your blood pressure will almost always increase your risk for a heart attack unless it was very low to begin with.

cardiac disease or atherosclerotic Heart disease or coronary artery disease are all synonyms used by Drs to describe the same thing... though if you talk to a medical biller there are differing codes, they are in essence the same thing. Narrowing of the arteries that feed the heart oxygen. Hypertension is the normal result of this narrowing, cause as anyone in the world knows... if a pipe gets smaller the pressure goes up.... pipe=artery and pressure = blood pressure or with increased BP hypertension. This is not the only cause of HTN (hypertension) but is the main one Drs are worried about. And in most circumstances a higher BP means the pipe is smaller meaning heart disease is worse. There are lots of contributing factors mind you, but you get the idea.
