Prostatic Hyperplasia
As a male ages, the prostate gradually enlarges. If it gets too large, it can cause a decrease in urine flow. This is called Benign Prostate Hyperplasia, also known as BPH. This is not cancer.

A non-cancerous growth of the prostate is called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Prostate enlargement refers to the condition where the prostate gland grows in size, usually due to a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This can cause symptoms such as frequent urination, especially at night, weak urine flow, and difficulty emptying the bladder completely. It is a common condition in aging men.
An enlarged prostate means that the prostate has gotten bigger than its original size. Benign prostatic hypertrophy is its common name and mostly happens to old and middle-aged men.
Palpation of the prostate gland through the rectum is a physical examination technique known as digital rectal exam (DRE). It involves a healthcare provider inserting a lubricated, gloved finger into the rectum to feel the prostate gland for any abnormalities such as nodules, enlargement, or tenderness. DRE is commonly used to screen for prostate cancer and assess prostate health.
This condition is called prostatism. It is usually an age-related medical problem in men in which there is an enlargement of the prostate gland.
The enlargement of the adrenal gland is called adrenal gland hypertrophy.
depends on what part of the spine you are talking about. Generally any enlargement is called hypertrophy.
The male ureter travels down through the center of the prostate gland. If the prostate gland expands (called "benign prostatic hypertrophy", or "BPH"), it expands in all directions, as Einstein taught us. Not only does it get bigger growing outwards, it gets smaller growing inwards. This constricts the ureter, slowing the flow of urine, sometimes to a bare dribble.
Enlargement of muscle cells is called hypertrophy.
