You need to gather all your stuff beforehand:
A kidney-shaped bowl or other receptacle.
A large sirynge
Alcohol swabs
A "blue" pad or other coveing, or a towel
Sterile saline solution,

Lay down the pad or plastic protector (or towel) on the bed or a side table. (I am not sure if you can do this sitting down . My husband stayed in bed for the procedure)
Wash your hands carefully with soap and water and dry with a clean towel or a paper towel
Fill a large syringe with sterile saline solution and hold it so the tip doesn't touch anything. You can use a sterile pad to lay it down, but with practise you'll became a pro.
Disconect the tubbing from the foley catheter.
Unwrap an alcohol swab and clean around the opening of the catheter
Conect the syringe to the foley opening and slowly push the solution in
Remove the syringe and let the saline solution drip out of the catheter.
Repeat.
Clean again around the catheter opening and the tube opening with an alcohol swab and conect again the tubing to the catheter

Make sure you do not put the saline into the side tube that inflates the ballon, it has to go inthe end of the catheter

Ask your doctor how much saline to use , I use abot 30 cc's, but my husband has a spastic bladder. Some nurse use boiled and cooled water , but I think is better to use sterile saline to avoid infections. If you do use boiled water, take great care to avoid cross-contamination (wich I think is impossible to do, boiling the water on the stove)

Hope it helped and good luck. It will get much easier after the second or third time.

Why is there a low water level in the toilet bowl after flushing?

The low water level in the toilet bowl after flushing is usually caused by a clog in the drain pipe, a malfunctioning flapper valve, or a problem with the water supply. This can prevent the proper amount of water from refilling the bowl after flushing.

What is the function of a flapper flush valve in a toilet system and how does it contribute to the overall efficiency of the flushing mechanism?

The flapper flush valve in a toilet system controls the release of water from the tank into the bowl during flushing. It opens when the flush handle is pressed, allowing water to flow into the bowl and then closes to stop the flow once the desired amount of water has been released. This mechanism helps regulate the amount of water used for each flush, contributing to the overall efficiency of the flushing process by ensuring that only the necessary amount of water is used to effectively clear the bowl.

How much water is in flushing the toilet 20 times?

Why is it important to avoid toilet flushing twice to conserve water and reduce environmental impact?

Avoiding flushing the toilet twice is important to conserve water and reduce environmental impact because each flush uses a significant amount of water, and unnecessary flushing wastes this valuable resource. Conserving water helps to protect the environment by reducing the strain on water sources and lowering energy consumption for water treatment and distribution. By being mindful of our water usage, we can contribute to sustainability efforts and help preserve our planet for future generations.

Why does flushing the toilet affect the water temperature in the shower?

Flushing the toilet can affect the water temperature in the shower because both the toilet and the shower are connected to the same water supply system. When the toilet is flushed, it temporarily reduces the amount of water available for the shower, causing a drop in water pressure and potentially affecting the temperature of the water coming out of the shower.
