I get a sweat/heat rash on my back and shoulders and for years the only relief was a girlfriend with long fingernails. But now I've found something else...
#1 - I switched to 100% cotton Fruit of the Loom Tshirts, this helped alot. Shirts with polyester or DryFit (fancy name for polyester) hold in heat as they are like a plastic bag.
#2 - A friend recommended i try Selsun Blue shampoo on my back and shoulders. I did it on one for a week and compared to the other it was about 90% better, so now im doing both.
I had to pass this on as this bothered me everyday in the summer and I was soooooo happy to find relief.
I get it also and sometimes it doesent go away for a ratehr long time. What i found helped me (which is wierd) is baby powred. i have large breasts and used to get them in between and on my uped stomach. really bad looking. so to get rid it i washed vigurousely with regular tough sope and tehn dusted myself a bit with baby powred to keep the are dry. worked like a charm... and since i work with babies, i had a way to explain the baby smell. =)
I get red blotches on my stomach and back area after I have an intense work out. I run 5 hard miles on the treadmill and sweat profusely. This just started happening a few weeks ago and I have been running for about 20 years. I don't know why. At first I thought they were chicken pox, but larger and they don't itch and seem to disappear by the end of the day. I'm a 38 year old, female.
I get small patches of discolouration, mostly after exercise and sweating, especially in the summer. It dies down pretty quickly, but will hang around for several days, and is worse if I don't lose the sweaty shirt promptly. Seems like it started about eight years ago. Doesn't bother me - apart from the appearance - but would be nice to know what it is and get rid of it. (Probably a doctor would be good for that!)
Use Canesten Hydrocortisone cream. It'll take it away in no time. (Go to their website if you don't believe me
If the problem really doesn't go away, it might be Tinea Versicolor. It's a discoloration of the skin, and it's enhanced from sweating and working out. I'm 17, and I still have mine, which started in 8th grade, so that's 5 years. The doctors have given me many medicines to help it, both oral pills and topical creams, but nothing has really helped. They are usually more noticable in the Summer. Mine started on the stomach, and have spread to my back and upper chest, so mainly my whole torso.
