It is likely that you will recover if you only took it once. However, the stuff you took was probably very potent. That's the trouble with illicit drugs- there are no guarantees, they can be too strong or too weak. That's why nobody can give you a totally clear answer here. But most of the scary stuff comes from habitual use over the long-term.

There is ample research out , real science, warning that MDMA/ecstasy damages neurons- especially serotonin-producing neurons. You do not want to mess with serotonin receptors or production- you could end up with depressive disorders, memory problems, etc.

You are probably going to be OK, but you might indeed have mild long-term consequences from even one harsh dose of that drug. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT use it again. Especially if you need your brain for college, science, work, etc.

People will tell you all sorts of things like stick to milder drugs, etc. I can't tell you what to do there, but I can tell you that MDMA is getting some real bad press from reliable scientific sources in many countries- the evidence is showing some impact on memory and cognition (advanced thinking).
