Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) is often preferred over clarithromycin for treating pneumonia caused by bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae, as it has a broader spectrum of activity against these pathogens. Additionally, Augmentin's beta-lactam component is effective against penicillin-sensitive strains, while clarithromycin primarily targets atypical bacteria. Augmentin also has a favorable safety profile and can reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance due to its dual action. Overall, Augmentin's efficacy against common bacterial causes of pneumonia makes it a strong choice in many cases.
Yes
Bronchitis is almost always viral and does not get better faster with antibiotics. Talk to your health care provider for advice specific to your situation.
If you keep augmentin for longer than 36 months does it just lose its efficacy or does it become harmful?
Azithromycin (the generic of Zithromax) is better than erythromycin due to being taken less often, having less GI side effects and a broader range of coverage (it kills more). It is superior to both erythromycin and clarithromycin (Biaxin) because it causes fewer drug interactions. Some doctors like clarithromycin better than azithromycin for things like sinus infections because they think it gets to the site of infection better. Erythromycin has other uses and is much less expensive than the other two.
yes it is.. that was my doctor prescribe. its pretty expensive than other pain killer but its totally effective. you dont have to wait for an hour or so.
My son is currently on Augmentin and we were told that it needs to be refrigerated because if it is left at room temperature for more than 9 hours it loses its potency.
If Bronchitis is not taken care of it will turn into Pneumonia
Pneumonia is a respiratory disease, rather than a place or state, but there are a few entries on Google maps such as "Pneumonia Lake", "Pneumonia Gulch" and "Pneumonia Road" that are named after the disease.
It took me more than 12 weeks to recover from my bout of pneumonia. Pneumonia can be deadly.
probably not it might get pneumonia or freeze to death or something. better safe than sorry right
Yes, walking pneumonia is often considered a type of atypical pneumonia. It is typically caused by specific bacteria, such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and is characterized by milder symptoms that allow individuals to continue with their daily activities. Atypical pneumonia, in general, refers to pneumonia caused by organisms other than the common bacteria that cause typical pneumonia, including various bacteria and viruses. Therefore, while all walking pneumonia is atypical, not all atypical pneumonia is classified as walking pneumonia.
It depends on which type of bacteria or virus is causing the pneumonia. Some are more, or less, communicable than others.
