You're your own victim. Stop taking on so much in your perceived competition which is only with yourself. You only need to publish a few (2-3) good papers a year. Take a holiday. Academia will roll on without you...in fact if you chill out no one will probably notice. If academia is all too much, maybe just quit and take a day-job.
