We suggest searching for a program that allows you to deal with whatever issues might be causing the attitudes -- whatever they may be. Such things are usually defenses that have arisen at some point in life, but may no longer be useful. Nonetheless, they remain with us until we dig out the underlying reasons and deal with them.

Group therapy is very useful in such situations. Perhaps you could contact your local mental health association for referrals. We do not mean to imply that you are mentally ill, but merely that those are the folks who will have the information you need.

If you are involved in a 12-step program, working the steps will help. You might also be able to find a group through a local treatment facility.
