To stop picking your toenails, first, identify the triggers that lead you to this habit, such as boredom or anxiety. Try to replace the behavior with healthier alternatives, like squeezing a stress ball or engaging in a hands-on hobby. Keeping your toenails trimmed and well-groomed can also reduce the urge to pick. Additionally, consider using reminders, like wearing socks, to help break the habit.

To care for a scab, keep the area clean and dry to prevent infection. Avoid picking at the scab, as this can delay healing and increase the risk of scarring. If necessary, apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment to protect the area, but it's important to allow the scab to breathe. Covering it with a sterile bandage can help if the scab is in a location prone to irritation.
To relieve scab itching and promote healing, you can try keeping the scab clean and moisturized, applying a cold compress, using over-the-counter anti-itch creams, avoiding picking or scratching the scab, and ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
