food poisioning mainly caused by organism called clostridium botulinum.this organism will secreate dangerous toxin called botulinum toxin which is very fatal in nature.it was known that 1u gr of this toxin has the ability to kill 20000 mice at a time.

This organism on entering into body secretes ENDOTOXINcalled botulinum toxin.if we give antibody containing preparations called botulinum antitoxin into body this causes antigen-antibody reaction and toxin produced by it gets nuetralised.

This process involves nuetralisation reaction,this involves antigen antibody reactions.here antigen is botulinum toxin while antibody is antitoxin.this antibody containing preparation which includes antitoxin reacts with the toxin and nuetralise it.then floccules occurs and toxin effect will be nuetralised.

thus antibodies injected against that specific antitoxin kills food poisioning.
