As far as I'm aware, the lungs don't actually aid digestion, however there are a few things they do that might indirectly be helpful.

The consistent pressure changes in the thoracic cavity due to inspiration/exhalation, may exert some pressure/force on the oesophagus which may aid peristalsis, ensuring an easy transit of food to the stomach.

The only other thing is that breathing maintains a high oxygen concentration gradient, so we therefore have high availability of oxygen for respiration. All the cells in the digestive system must respire to create ATP for energy, and the oxygen needed comes from breathing through the lungs.
