My son will seem distant and detached most of the time, when he is stressed he will become anxious and worry. He has also run away and hid, thrown things, and pulled the front part of his hair out, gradually, creating a thin/balding spot.

How do you cure Asperger's Syndrome?

You cannot cure Asperger's Syndrome. It is a neurological condition that affects how the brain works, so rather than curing it, people with Asperger's Syndrome can learn or be taught some methods to deal with some of its effects. They can also be given medications that can treat some of the symptoms, but not the cause. There is no cure for Aspergers Syndrome. There are a number of ways that a person with Aspergers can be helped to live a good quality, independent life which is sometimes made difficult by the condition.

Does a person with Asperger's Syndrome need to tell his or her future spouse before marrying?

Absolutely! Marriage is based on trust, and keeping secrets betrays that trust! Also, not all people are able to deal with people with learning disabilities, so the more they learn, the better. Clarification: Asperger's Syndrome (AS) is a developmental disorder, more specifically a pervasive developmental disorder. Asperger's Syndrome is not a learning disability. A person with AS can also have learning disabilities. Learning disabilities include dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscaclulia, and dysnomia.

Is ADHD worse than autism?

Asperger's Syndrome is an autism spectrum disorder. The diagnostic difference between autism and Asperger's Syndrome is that autism has delayed language development while Asperger's Syndrome does not. (However, some people with Asperger's Syndrome displayed delayed language development.) Often, people with the symptoms who have below average intelligence are diagnosed with autism, while those who have average or above average intelligence are diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. As conditions, Asperger's Syndrome is not worse than autism nor is autism worse than Asperger's Syndrome. Both disorders can range from mild to severe, so one person with autism might have a much more severe case than another person with Asperger's Syndrome, while another person with autism might have a much less severe case than another individual with Asperger's Syndrome. Severe retardation is a significant impairment that occurs in some cases of autism, so that combined with severe symptoms of autism might be worse than cases of Asperger's Syndrome. Because people with Asperger's Syndrome have average to high intelligence, they are more likely to have developed techniques to avoid or cope with their difficulties and thus make it appear that they have fewer problems. This means that Asperger's Syndrome can go undetected for years, even into adulthood, so the person does not understand why he or she is experiencing so many difficulties.

What allows people and animals to deal with stressful events?
