Anaemia can be hereditary, (for example people with thalasemia) or can be the result of a diet poor in foods rich in iron. Foods rich in iron are red meat, spinach, parsley, spinach etc. Also, a person might have high levels of blood iron and the feritine might be low and that means that the body cannot absorb iron, despite receiveing it.
