If someone is an alchoholic they should never stop on their own this can kill them. They need immediate healthcare so they can be prescribed Ativan, or librium so that they don't die. You can't always tell when someone is an alchoholic, some people hide pretty well.... they are the functioning alchoholics which they can hide it for a long time
