No matter what the label is, the outcome/the type of behavior and the type of interpersonal interactions that take place must remain in focus. Both types of people mentioned in the question (and it is a very very good question), will have problems with others and with self. While one might be sympathetic/more tolerant/more patient with the second type of person described, it still remains that the pattern of behavior needs to be worked on. A narcissistic person may lure others in the begining only to find themselves in the trap of an entangled relationship with little joy, lots of suffering and difficulty progressing to any place. Leave the labels aside, focus on the problem behavior. Regardless of the reasons, the results are the same: Bottom line: protect yourself, assist the other in as many ways or as few ways that keep you sane, productive and free to choose to love and give. Any demands, warranted or unwarranted must be fulfilled by your choice: only by your choice. The two types of personalities mentioned may guiltify, or manipulate. Make sure you do everything by full choice and deliberation. Good luck
