Acupuncture treatment is a great way to overcome insomnia without taking medicine. However, if that's not of interest, you can practice meditation or relaxation/visualization techniques to help calm your mind and ease yourself into sleep. I allot 30 minutes every night before I fall asleep to calmness. During that time, I fully stretch all my muscles and take deep breaths. This helps quiet my mind so my thoughts are keeping me up throughout the night.
