Neuralgia is a generalized term meaning "nerve pain", and the treatment will depend on the cause. In general, many people feel relief from pain using massage, or hot water soaks (THERE's a good excuse to buy a hot tub!) or ointments. Some people find acupuncture or hypnosis to be effective.

There are a number of prescription medications that treat neuralgia with varying degrees of success; discuss these with your doctor.

And remember that every person is different, and will respond differently to every disease and remedy.
