Signs of infection are usually redness, swelling, irritation or pain, that lasts longer than a few days. Some minor irritations such as swelling and a longer healing time can sometimes be cleared up quickly by switching from body jewelry made of stainless steel, to body jewelry made from titanium or 14K gold. Any discharge that becomes noticeably thicker and is yellow or green in color, red streaks from the piercing site and a fever, along with body aches are signs of a more serious infection and should be checked by a doctor. If you have any doubt about how serious a problem is with your piercing, please consult a reputable piercing professional or doctor immediately.
it is infected
i have my upper cartilage pierced and mine is not infected or any thing its totally safe
Most people I know including my cartilage piercing left a large circular bumb on the back of my cartilage piercing :/ it's worth it though. I love my cartilage piercing!
The best way to know if your new piercing is infected is by the visual appearance. If the piercing is red or inflamed, it may be infected. It also may be hot to the touch.
Ear cartilage piercing, yes and................
Cartilage!<3
yes she does have a cartilage piercing on one ear she also has a nose piercing and a belly piercing too.
the tragus piercing is done on cartilage and if you know you form keloids you should avoid cartilage piercings because they have a high chance of forming keloids
When you get the piercing done it might, and also if you manage to get it infected or rip it off your ear. But otherwise you should be fine.
Signs of an infected piercing Redness, discharge of green puss, swelling, tenderness and possible warm to the touch. The quickest way to resolve an infected piercing is to irrigate the piercing under warm running water while moving the jewellery back and forth through the piercing allowing the water to rinse the jewellery off. If you are using after care products to clean your piercing cease using all of them (this way we can find out if the aftercare product is causing the problem). Irrigating the piercing twice a day under warm water while moving the jewellery will rinse the puss and other matter out of the piercing. Once you have completed the rinsing, dry the piercing with clean tissue and leave it alone, don't apply anything else to the piercing. This should resolve and infected piercing within 24 to 48 hours.
It depends on the type of piercing. Common signs are soreness, redness, puss and occasionally lumps.
Actually, no. Oral piercings are among the piercings that rarely get infected; that is, if they are taken care of properly. The piercings that are the most prone to infection are the navel and ear cartilage piercings.
