Ideally you should forget about tampons and focus on being comfortable with your own body first - if you're scared of inserting things vaginally then focus just on learning about your body and exploring your genitals with your fingers. Once it comes to using tampons or other internal menstrual products then you will be more comfortable with vaginal penetration so it will be less scary for you to use them.
