It actually makes the sex better if the vein is exposed on the penis, the penis is more sensitive to a woman's vagina.

Is it a blocked lymph vessel? Although uncommon, this feels like an enlarged vein usually across the shaft of the penis just below the glans. Whilst palpable when flaccid (although is still hard when pressed) it can cause discomfort when the penis is erect.

It's not the sort of thing that goes away by itself although can decrease in size over time, only to return to full hardness usually after several bouts of sexual activity.

If it is causing greater discomfort the only solution is surgery (a urologist is the person to see), otherwise it's just another interesting thing to discuss with your lover!
