It is the battery, it's just like a motor example, say you have a red wire a blue wire and a black and green wire you would tie those to the battery inside so it is like a regular brush in side a case. Also, the people who make them put a hole in the battery and the put the wires in it so u should get a a+ on this cause I'm writing about this because my dad works in a toothbrush factory.
