For me, the really bad part only lasted about 36 - 48 hours, but the lingering need and rebound headaches continue for me (it's been 10 days). But I did not think I was going to survive the first 24 hours, it is that bad.

Can you take methadone and excedrin migraine together?

Yes, you can take methadone and Excedrin Migraine together. Methadone is a synthetic opiate medication used to treat pain and also combat the withdrawal symptoms of heroin. It is used to treat heroin withdrawal because it puts an opiate in the system of the patient, but does not provide the euphoric rush that heroin does. Excedrin Migraine contains acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin (an NSAID), and caffeine. None of the ingredients in Excedrin Migraine should interfere with methadone use.

Can you take excedrin migraine 4 hours after taking ibuprofen?

The short answer is yes. Ibuprofen and Aspirin are both drugs that are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). If you took a standard dose of aspirin for pain (325-650mg) and were still experiencing some discomfort you can take so ibuprofen. I would recommend taking it with food to reduce stomach upset.

How can one determine the residence time of a substance in a system?

The residence time of a substance in a system can be determined by dividing the total amount of the substance in the system by the rate at which the substance is entering or leaving the system. This calculation gives an estimate of how long the substance stays in the system before being removed or depleted.

Will exedrin migraine help a migraine?

It can potentially help. It contains acetaminophen, aspirin, and "Therapeutically Active Caffeine". These ingredients, when combined, can help to relieve a migraine. The effectiveness of Excedrin Migraine, or any other pain reliever for that matter, depends on the individual: what works for one person may not help another. It also depends on when you take it, since waiting too long to take any kind of pain medication will reduce its overall effectiveness and can increase the amount of time it takes to work. It's important to note that you should never exceed the recommended dosage on over-the-counter or prescription medicine unless your doctor has stated otherwise. Also, overuse of pain relievers can lead to what's referred to as "rebound headaches", which will not be helped by any kind of medication.

Can you take Excedrin PM for a headache at 12 am if you took Phentermine 12 hours earlier?

Yes. Excedrin PM (unlike its cousins - the other Excedrins) does not contain caffeine. It contains diphenhydramine (Benadryl) to help you fall asleep. So it will not react with Phentermine, which is a stimulant. Phentermine stays in the system a long time. 16-31 hours is its half-life (which means it might take more than full day to work out of your system). So be careful in the daytime with other stimulants.

How long do migraine meds stay in the system?

How long your medicine stays in your system is completely dependent upon the medication and your personal body system. Medications are measured by something called their half life. This means the length of time until half the medicine has left the body. The longer the half life, the longer time the medicine will stay in your system. Each medicine has a different half life.

For how long does excedrin relief pain from your body?

Excedrin (as well as Excedrin Migraine which contains the same ingredients), contains Acetaminophen (Tylenol), Aspirin, and Caffeine. Acetaminophen works to relieve pain and has a half-life of 2-4 hours. So, anywhere from 4-8 hours the acetaminophen will be completely gone from your body. Aspirin works by blocking pain signals before they get to the brain, also by reducing inflammation (where much of migraine pain is an inflammatory response - this is especially important). Its half-life (for the normal dosage of Excedrin) would be about 3.1-3.2 hours. So, at about 6 hours all aspirin would be gone from your body. Caffeine works both by increasing the rate of absorption of the medication and by working as a vasocontrictor on blood vessels that are dilated due to inflammation. Taking two Excedrin is about the same as drinking a cup of coffee. The half-life of caffeine is about 5 hours. The directions for Excedrin say to take 2 tablets every 6 hours. This is both because they don't want you overdosing on the medication and because at about 6 hours the pain relieving effects will be wearing off from all three components. If you are taking over-the-counter medications for your headaches and are finding they are doing little to nothing for your pain, see your doctor. And please read the labels of any other medications your are taking to make sure they do not contain an NSAID (like ibuprofen - which is Motrin, Advil) or Acetaminophen (which is in every form of Tylenol and in some cold medications as well).
