How much have cancer research raised?

I had read one time that it was somewhere between 4 and 5 Percent but I would like to know for sure. I think people are being misled about all the money raised. The disease cancer is a very big money maker for some companies. Think of all the people that would be out of work if there was a cure.

Everyone that works at research, ad agents, telephone call centers anyone who raises money for cancer. There would be hundreds of thousands if not millions out of work/
