How soon can you know if you're pregnant?

There are two ways of determining if you are pregnant.

1) You can have a specialised blood test performed 5 days after suspected conception which is known as the Quantitative beta hcg blood test.

2) You can perform a pregnancy test 2-3 weeks after intercourse and the result will be accurate.

It depends on the pregnancy test you are using. There are some now that boast that it can pick up the pregnancy hormones in as little as 5 days after you are pregnant...even before your first missed period. You may want to try one of those. Or just wait until your first missed period.

Some women know at the moment of implantation, they just have a feeling. If your just want to verify by taking a test you will have to wait until about the time of your missed period or a few days after. However, some signs that you can look for before a test will come up positive is bright pink or brown spotting when you wipe, cramps, lower Back pain, increased urination, nausea or vomiting, sensitivity to smells and tastes, runny nose, breast pain, darkening of the areola, increased breast size and mood swings. It is never too early to take a test, but if you wait 3-4 days you would have good chances getting accurate results. After that re take the test in another week or so.
